Conflict of Interest Policy

Upholding Objectivity and Trust in Our Content

Last Updated: October 24, 2024

At VitalCents, our fundamental commitment is to our readers. To ensure our content is always objective, unbiased, and trustworthy, we have established this Conflict of Interest Policy. This policy applies to all our staff, writers, editors, and expert reviewers.

Our Guiding Principle

Editorial decisions at VitalCents are driven by scientific evidence, expert consensus, and the needs of our readers—never by commercial, financial, or personal interests.

1. Definition of a Conflict of Interest

A conflict of interest exists when a person's financial relationships, business interests, or personal loyalties could potentially influence or compromise their professional judgment and objectivity in the creation or review of content.

2. For Our Editorial Staff and Contributors

All members of the VitalCents team are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest. Specifically:

  • Financial Interests: Staff are prohibited from owning stock or having financial stakes in any health, fitness, or supplement company that they may cover in他们的 content.
  • Gifts and Travel: Staff and contributors are prohibited from accepting gifts, paid travel, or any form of compensation from companies in exchange for coverage.
  • External Relationships: Any advisory roles, board memberships, or other relationships with external health organizations or companies must be disclosed to the editorial leadership.

3. Product Reviews and Recommendations

Our product reviews are independent and based on our own testing and research. We do not accept payment for positive reviews. While we may receive products from companies for testing purposes, this does not guarantee a favorable review. Our recommendations are guided by what we believe is best for our readers, and our use of affiliate links does not influence these decisions. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more.

4. Advertising and Sponsored Content

We maintain a strict firewall between our advertising and editorial departments. Advertisers have no influence over our editorial content. Any content that is created in partnership with or paid for by a sponsor is clearly and prominently labeled as "Sponsored" to distinguish it from our independent editorial content. See our Advertising Policy for details.

5. Disclosure and Resolution

Should a potential conflict of interest arise, the writer or editor must immediately disclose it to our editorial leadership. Steps will be taken to mitigate the conflict, which may include reassigning the topic to another writer or, if necessary, publicly disclosing the potential conflict within the article itself.

This policy is a cornerstone of our commitment to you. If you have any questions or feel that this policy has been violated, please contact us immediately.
